Child Abuse Charges Against Foster Mom Dropped

ABILENE – More than four years after 34-year-old Hannah Seekins was charged with injury to a child, the Taylor County District Attorney's office has dropped the charges.

Back in January of 2018, the foster mom was arrested after a child under her care suffered significant injuries.

The incident report stated the child had gone limp and his eyes rolled to the side while lying on the floor.

After the child was air-lifted to Lubbock doctors determined he had suffered a retinal hemorrhage, ligament damage to the cervical spine, subdural hemorrhaging along the spinal cord, and a couple of fractures of the fourth thoracic vertebrae.

At the time Seekins told police the child must have fallen from a bench as doctors described his injuries as "physical abuse" with a "substantial risk of death."
