Nolan County Man Arrested for Voter Fraud

 

AUSTIN – The Office of the Attorney General is highlighting three notable arrests made by the AG's Law Enforcement Round-Up.

Authorities arrested Kenneth Ray Teaff in Nolan County. Teaff was indicted by a grand jury on one count of Fraudulent Use of Application for Ballot by Mail and one count of Tampering with a Government Record. 

According to authorities, Teaff applied for a ballot by mail in the name of his deceased brother during the November 2020 election.

One arrest occurred on August 24th in Tarrant County. The suspect, identified as Gerald Ray Burnett, was arrested in Forth Worth. Back in 2013, Burnett was convicted of Aggravated Sexual Assault sentenced to 5 years in prison. 

Subsequently, Burnett failed to comply with the applicable sex offender registration requirements and the Fort Worth Police Department issued a Fail to Register Sex Offender warrant.

On August 25th, the Rowlett Police Department arrested Arlis Jamel Waits for an outstanding warrant for Indecency with a Child.
