I remember riding my bicycle all around, back when it was safe and normal for kids to do that. We used to ride our bikes down into that old caliche pit (which is what it was called). It was turned into a park not too long after that. Young teenagers would gather there at all times of day and night. Back then there wasn't the worry about gangs, shootings, robberies or other violence. My, how San Angelo has changed.
