Barnhart Water Supply Company Lawyer & President Busted for Swindling Tens of Thousands

BARNHART, TX – The duo who stole from the Barnhart Water Supply Company is finally being held accountable for their thefts.

According to court documents, during the Jan. term of 2021, an Irion County Grand Jury indicted Donald Little, 63, and Michael Barron, 61, for misappropriating a fiduciary $30,000 to $150,000.

Little is accused of "recklessly misapplying US currency, held as a fiduciary, and used it in a manner that involved substantial risk of loss to members of the Barnhart Water Supply Company." The theft occurred from Oct. 2018 until Dec. 2019.

In the indictment 51st District Attorney Allison Palmer claimed that Little received a personal payment that was "not in conformity with the corporation's purposes." Little also has a co-defendant named Michael Barron.

Records show that Barron is the president of the Barnhart Water Supply Company while Little is a lawyer from Lakeway, TX who was working for the company.

As for Barron, since 2018 he has been arrested twice for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon; once in 2018 and once in 2019. The most recent arrest came in Jan. 2020 when he arrested for a grand jury indictment for obstruction or retaliation. All of these charges came out of Irion County but he was taken to the Tom Green County Detention Facility.

A document published by the Third District Texas Court of Appeals claimed that the two parties attempted to agree to a deal in Feb. 2020. The appeals court denied the appeal in Mar. 2020.

Little was found guilty on Aug. 5 and will spend 5 years in the TDCJ. He will also pay a $5,000 fine and $20,000 in restitution. Barron also had a pre-trial on the same day. His jury trial date has not been set at this time.
