Border Agents Arrest Dozens More Illegal Immigrants

EDINBURG, TX – Rio Grande Valley Border Patrol agents successfully disrupt three human smuggling incidents across the Rio Grande Valley.

Wednesday afternoon, Rio Grande City Border Patrol Station agents received information regarding a Roma residence suspected of being used as a human smuggling stash house. Agents approached the location and observed several subjects lying on the floor through an open window. Approximately fifteen subjects ran out the back door and fled into the nearby brush. Upon entry, agents discovered 17 subjects within the home. The subjects were determined to be illegal immigrants from Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, and Colombia. No caretaker was identified.

Later that afternoon, Brownsville Border Patrol Station agents observed a dark blue Chrysler 300 pick up four subjects who were suspected of illegally entering the country. The sedan sped off from the location and shortly afterwards struck a light pole. The vehicle’s occupants exited the sedan and ran into the nearby neighborhood. Agents arrived at the scene and apprehended a Mexican national. The man was offered medical attention, but he declined treatment. The driver and remaining passengers were not located.

Thursday, Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) relayed information regarding a suspected human smuggling stash house located in north Edinburg to the Weslaco Border Patrol Station. Agents alongside HCSO deputies, approached the apartment and observed a subject running away from the adjacent property and into the nearby brush. Law enforcement authorities approached the location from where the subject fled and discovered 27 harbored illegal immigrants. The illegals are from Honduras, Guatemala, and the Dominican Republic. No caretaker was identified.

Border agents didn't release any information about the illegal immigrants being infected with Covid-19 or their vaccination status.

Border Patrol processed all subjects accordingly.
