Two Suspects Arrested for Violently Kidnapping Pregnant Woman and Her Man

LUBBOCK,TX – Two Lubbock men have been arrested after they kidnapped and held a couple hostage.

Cruz Deleon Jr. and Mark Alonzo, both 30, have been arrested for abducting a man and his pregnant wife and terrorizing them.

On July 15th around 3:00 a.m., officers responded to a residence in north Lubbock where two people were allegedly held hostage by Deleon and Alonzo.

According to one of the victims, Deleon showed up to the house looking for someone who he said owed him money. Deleon then walked into the house, pulled a firearm and pointed it at them saying he was serious.

He told the male victim he was “going to get his money” and forced the man to ride with him to Canton Avenue where the person who owed the money might be.

Alonzo had been at the home the day prior to this incident according to the male victim and had stayed at the residence with the pregnant woman while Deleon and the male victim were gone.

When Deleon and the male victim returned, Alonzo and Deleon released both victims but not before Deleon threatened the woman with murder if she called the police.

Alonzo was charged with aggravated kidnapping while Deleon was charged with aggravated kidnapping, aggravated assault, and failure to stop and render aid.

Deleon’s bond has been set at $75,000.00 and Alonzo’s bond has been set at $25,000.00.
