Sheriff Deputies Seize 70 Pounds of the Devil's Lettuce in Abilene

 

ABILENE, TX – More than 70 pounds of the devil's lettuce was seized Friday during a drug bust in Taylor County.

According to the TCSO, on Friday, July 16th, 2021, agents with the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office investigated a large-scale marijuana distribution in the Abilene Taylor County, Texas area.

Agents were able to intercept a delivery of approximately 71 pounds 3.6 ounces of high-grade marijuana.

The marijuana was being shipped from California to cities in Texas and other states; during this operation, one person who was the receiver of the marijuana, Alexander Rodriguez, was arrested and charged with delivery of marijuana greater than 50 pounds but less than 2000 pounds a first-degree felony.

The street value of the marijuana is greater than $100,000. The investigation into the case will continue.
