Violent Mexican Cartels Keep Pushing that Mary Jane Across the Rio Grande

 

EDINBURG, TX – Rio Grande Valley Border Patrol Sector (RGV) agents seize approximately $475K worth of marijuana near the Rio Grande in two separate incidents and spotted a suspected violent drug cartel thug with a longarm in Mexico during a failed narcotic smuggling event.

Yesterday evening, Rio Grande City Border Patrol Station agents working their assigned area near Garceno, Texas, received information of possible narcotic smuggling in the area. Responding agents encountered multiple bundles of marijuana in the cab of an abandoned Ford Expedition near the Rio Grande.  No suspects were encountered. The seized bundles weighed more than 479 pounds with an estimated street value of over $383K.

Last night, a passenger bus arrived at the Falfurrias Border Patrol Checkpoint and was referred to the secondary inspection area for further review after a service canine alerted to three black suitcases in the lower storage compartment.  The unclaimed suitcases contained several bundles of marijuana that weighed over 114 pounds is valued at over $91K.

Additionally a Harlingen Border Patrol Station agent observed several illegal alien invaders swimming back to Mexico with suspected bundles of narcotics.  A suspected drug cartel thug carrying a longarm and wearing camouflage was spotted on the Mexican riverbank.  The smugglers and armed subject were observed walking away from the river and further into Mexico.
