ODESSA, TX –– An Odessa-based attorney will spend the next two years in prison after pleading guilty to one count of being a drug user in possession of a firearm in April.

According to court documents, back in February officers with the Odessa Police Department executed a search warrant on Adrian Chavez's home. The search warrant was obtained after learning Chavez " had received quantities of methamphetamine.”

Inside the home, officers located multiple firearms including a  Springfield Armory Hellcat 9mm; a Taurus Brasil 357 Magnum; a Rossi RS22 .22 caliber rifle; a Remington Wingmaster 870TB 12-gauge shotgun; and a Remington 770 .30-06 caliber rifle. Officers also located meth and drug paraphernalia.

On Tuesday, a U.S. District Judge sentenced Chavez to 24 months in prison. Chavez will also be required to pay a $10,000 fine. After his release, Chavez will be placed on supervised release for three years.
