BREAKING: Former TLC Academy Teacher Sentenced for Improper Relationship with a Student

SAN ANGELO,TX – Former TLC Academy teacher Rebecca Landers was sentenced to 4 years deferred adjudication after pleading guilty to having an improper relationship with a student.

In August 2008, Landers was an employee of what was TLCA in San Angelo and did knowingly engage in sexual contact with a student by touching the student’s breasts with the intent to arouse or gratify her sexual desire.

Having an improper relationship with a student is a second degree felony that carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison and a fine not to exceed $10,000.00.

Landers will serve 4 years deferred adjudication, will not have to pay a fine and has already paid restitution.

Editors Note:  The TLC Academy private school in 2008 is not the Texas Leadership Charter Academy that exists today.
