Dangerous Violent Inmate Indicted for Attacking Jailer

 

SAN ANGELO,TX – Arturo Garcia Jr. was indicted by a Tom Green County grand jury in June for assaulting a public servant.

According to court documents, on April 22nd, 2021, a disturbance occurred in cell block M-8 inside the Tom Green County Detention Facility.

During the disturbance, detention officers entered the M-8 housing cell block and were confronted by inmates wearing face covers and were ready for an altercation.

Inmate Gallegos charged officers and a struggle ensued.

During the attempt to restrain Gallegos, Arturo Garcia Jr. struck an officer in the face with his fist.

Garcia, who is in the detention facility for murder, was observed on video striking the officer.

The officer was treated at Shannon Hospital for a laceration to the bridge of his nose that required stitching.

Arturo Garcia Jr. is currently an inmate in the TGCDF on a $550,000.00 bond.
