West Texas Man Who Shot a Cop Sentenced

 

LUBBOCK,TX – A Gains County man has been sentenced to life with a possibility of parole for an officer involved shooting from 2019.

Daniel Ray Garcia had been convicted of aggravated assault on a public servant and has now been sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole.

Back in April 2019, about 60 miles southwest of Lubbock, a Seagraves officer executed a traffic stop on Garcia which turned into a small chase. Both Garcia and the officer were shot in the incident. 

Matthew Zalewski, the Seagraves officer involved, reacted to the sentencing on social media.
