SAN ANGLEO, TX – A San Angelo man was arrested on Juneteenth for assaulting another man with a handgun at an east San Angelo apartment complex.
According to court documents, on Jun. 19, officers with the San Angelo Police Department were dispatched to the 1000 block of Rio Concho Cir. for the report of an assault.
When the officers arrived they met with two men who were assaulted. They claimed that another man, later identified as Jermal Ray, and his girlfriend, Miaesha Brown, went into the apartment and assaulted one of the men.
They told officers that Ray initially came in and began punching one of the victims. One of the victims says that the punches made him fall to the ground where Ray began kicking him. The victim's ex-girlfriend, and Ray's current girlfriend Miaesha Brown, joined in and began kicking the victim.
Ray is then accused of pulling out a pistol, holding it up to the man's heads, and telling him "I'll F--k You Off."
The couple then stole the man's phone so that officers could not be immediately called.
Ray was captured and arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon at around 8:29 p.m. He was released the following day after making a $50,000 bond.
In the affidavit Brown was listed as a co-defendant. The Tom Green County Public Access portal lists Brown as wanted.
