SAN ANGELO,TX – Auston Brookshire, 19, of San Angelo has been charged with online solicitation of a minor.
On June 15, 2021, Department Public Safety troopers conducted an online solicitation investigation and during this investigation, set up an undercover profile using a social media app/website.
The suspect’s profile, named “Auston”, came in contact with the undercover profile before Brookshire was told the undercover officer was a minor.
Brookshire continued communication and escalated to Brookshire expressing sexual contact with the minor.
Brookshire then acted on this intent by going to a prearranged location at a prearranged time for the purpose of sexual contact while under the impression that the undercover officer was a minor.
Upon arriving at this location, troopers arrested Brookshire for the online solicitation of a minor. Brookshire told interviewers he knew the minor he was going to meet with was 15.
Brookshire was booked into the TGCDF on June 16th and his bond is currently set at $30,000.00.
