San Angelo Man Indicted for Escaping Custody

 

SAN ANGELO,TX- Ygnacio Gonzalez III has been indicted by a Tom Green County grand jury for escaping from the custody of the San Angelo Police Department.

According to court documents, on March 12th, 2021, SAPD officers located Gonzales near the Texas Bank Sports Complex and arrested him on a felony warrant.

After the officer transported Gonzales to jail the jail staff requested that Gonzales have a medical test before booking him into the facility.

The officer took Gonzales to Shannon Medical Center and the test was performed. While walking back to the police vehicle, the officer looked down at the key fob remote to unlock the vehicle. Gonzales said “sorry” and took off running.

The officer gave chase and was able to regain custody of Gonzales just a few blocks from Shannon.

Ygnacio Gonzales III was booked on March 12th, 2021 and released March 16th on $10,000.00 bond.
