Police: Man Accused of Murdering 68-Year-Old Grandmother

ABILENE, TX -- The Abilene Police Department has confirmed a 31-year-old Abilene man has been arrested after he allegedly murdered his grandmother.

According to APD, 68-year-old Judi Jones was found deceased on Monday morning by a friend. The responding officer reported the victim had obvious signs of trauma.

The incident was then treated as a homicide.

Hours later, the Abilene Police Department confirmed Joel Rakesh Laundre Thomas was arrested in connection to the case.

Thomas was charged with Murder and transported to the Taylor County Jail.
