SAN ANGELO, TX – After a relatively short deliberation period on Thursday morning, a Tom Green County jury found Mack A. Porter Jr. guilty on all counts.
Porter faced two accusations: one count of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child Younger than 14 Years of Age, a first-degree felony, and one count of Indecency with a Child by Exposure, a third-degree felony.
The victim was 11 years old at the time of the assault and described in graphic detail how Porter attempted to put his male sexual organ in her mouth.

Before breaking for lunch the jury heard from multiple state witnesses who painted a picture of Porter as being an individual who becomes aggressive when alcohol is involved. Several of the witnesses are law enforcement officials.
The punishment phase of the trial began Thursday afternoon as the jury will continue to hear witnesses from both sides before retiring to deliberate on the sentence.
In Texas, a first-degree felony carries a punishment of 5-99 years and a third-degree felony has a range of 2-10 years.
