Elderly Man Found Dead After Days Long Search

CISCO, TX -- The Cisco Police Department has confirmed a 79-year-old man who went missing last week was found deceased.

According to CPD, Samuel Woody was last seen on Friday after he got his oil changed at Precision Motors in downtown Cisco.

Woody was described as being forgetful and having a bad hip.

According to family members, Woody picked up the car as his stepson Darryl Riggs followed him home. Riggs told police he took a detour to pick up cat food.

"He was supposed to take the car and come home but he never made it," said Riggs.

A search of the area led investigators to his 2002 tan Mazda Tribute in Shackelford County. The vehicle was located on the grounds of a private ranch. Woody was not with the vehicle.
