AUSTIN, TX -- The Department of Public Safety has confirmed two fugitives on the Texas Top 10 Most Wanted List have been captured.
According to DPS, the two men were arrested during the first week of May.
The first suspect, identified as 33-year-old Eric Munoz was arrested in Donna, TX during Operation Lone Star.
Munoz is connected to the Tango Blast Valluco gang was part of the Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitive list. According to law enforcement, Munoz was in prison back in 2017.
He was placed on parole and had been wanted since October of 2020 for a violation. He had been previously convicted of multiple criminal offenses, including unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.
Munoz was arrested by DPS Special Agents and Texas Highway Patrol Troopers on May 4th after receiving a tip. He was taken into custody after a traffic stop where officers located narcotics and currency in his possession.
The second suspect was identified as 39-year-old Marcus Lee Torres.
Torres was put on the Texas Top 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender List back in April.
Torres was released from a TDC facility at the end of January of this year. He had been convicted and imprisoned back in 1998 after he sexually assaulted two boys, ages 7 and 9. Torres was sentenced to 30 years in prison.
The convicted sex offender was placed on the most wanted list after he failed to report to his parole officer.
Torres was apprehended after a citizen reported a suspicious person in Snyder. He was arrested on a residential street after a short foot pursuit.
