Drunk Suspect Indicted for Pointing Gun at Child

LUBBOCK,TX – Carlos Valdez has been indicted by a Lubbock County grand jury after pointing a firearm at a woman and her child and pulling the trigger in a drunken rage attack.

The police report states that Valdez was locked out of a home and then entered the house through a window.

The female witness says once he was inside the home, he pointed a gun at both her and her child. She believed that he was under the influence.

The woman told police that Valdez was going to kill her children first, then her, and then himself. He began clicking the gun in the direction of the woman. After, he began clicking the gun while pointing it at the child.

Clicking was clarified to mean Valdez was pulling the trigger of the weapon.

Valdez received a phone call and the woman had the child picked up by a family member.

Valdez then got the woman into a vehicle and drove around, hitting her several times until they returned to the house. It was here the woman was able to escape.

Valdez is currently being held in Lubbock County Detention Center on $31,750 bond.
