Tom Green County Perv Indicted for Lewd Acts with a Child

SAN ANGELO, TX- Mario Sanchez was indicted by a Tom Green County grand jury in April for Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child Under 14 Years of Age.

On December 1st, 2020, law enforcement attended a forensic interview of the victim at the Hope House. 

During this interview, the victim stated that Sanchez had sexual intercourse with her starting when she was approximately 12 years old. The victim said that she had been sexually assaulted more than 10 times with the last time occurring when she was 13 years old. The assaults took place at a residence near Brown’s Pool in San Angelo adding that Sanchez still lived at the address.

When asked if anything else had happened, the victim revealed that when she was about 10, Sanchez inserted his fingers inside her sexual organ.

The investigation led to law enforcement discovering the address at which the sexual assaults took place and due to it happening outside the city limits the case was forwarded to the Tom Green County Sheriff Office.

The mother of the victim spoke with law enforcement and told them that Sanchez had sent the victim Facebook messages.

All the dates discoverd by this investigation puts Mario Sanchez’s age somewhere between 17 and 21 from the first of the assaults to the to last assault.

From Sanchez’s facebook to the defendant’s facebook, the message Sanchez sent stated “R u still my bby gurl do u love me still I did tke ur virginity”.

Mario Sanchez was arrested on March 2nd, 2021 by the Tom Green County Sheriff Office. Sanchez posted a $100,000 bond and is not currently an inmate at the TGCDF.

Sanchez’s first pretrial hearing is scheduled for June 1st, 2021.
