Former Paint Rock School Board Member Sentenced for Assaulting Children

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – A former Paint Rock ISD School board Trustee will likely spend the remainder of his life in prison after being found guilty of sexual assault of children.

As previously reported, on Jan 13, 2018, former Paint Rock ISD School Board Trustee Daniel Bennett was arrested for multiple counts of crimes against children. For more see: Paint Rock ISD School Board Trustee Arrested, Accused of 3 Felonies

The man was indicted for the crimes later that year and information was released accusing him of continuously assaulting a child from Aug. 1, 2009 to Oct. 27, 2011. Then in May 29, 2013 and July 15, 2013 he committed two separate sexual assaults.

After years of court hearings a jury trial was held for Bennett. In the Tom Green Court House a jury found Bennett guilty on all counts.

Bennett was sentenced to 45 years confinement in the penitentiary for Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Young Child, and 10 years confinement for each of the two sexual assault of a child charges.

Bennett was sentenced to a total of 65 years in prison.
