Man Charge With Murder Ten Months Later

MIDLAND, TX – A Midland man is behind bars after police say he murdered 51-year-old Christopher Bruckner last year.

According to MPD, on July 22, 2020 officers were dispatched to the 3900 block of Tumbleweed Trail for reports of gunshots.

When officers arrived they located Bruckner's body. At that time the death was classified as a suspicious death.

The investigation continued and last month Brian Canady was indicted for murder by a grand jury.

On Friday, Canady was arrested by the  Lonestar Fugitive Task Force in Ector County. According to law enforcement, Canady moved to the neighboring county before he was indicted on murder charges.

No additional details have been released by authorities.

Canady's bond was set at $200,000 and he was released after posting the bond on Staurday.
