SAN ANGELO, TX – A San Angelo man faces multiple charges after A domestic violence incident that occurred last October.
According to court documents, on Apr. 7, Conner Featherston, 28, was indicted for Assault Against a Family Member and Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
The indictment came after an incident that occurred on Oct. 19, 2020 at around 3:30 a.m. Featherston's wife claims that she was awoken in the middle of the night by her husband who was demanding her to open her snapchat account.
Featherston's wife denied her husband access to her phone which prompted him to drag her out of bed, put his hands around her throat, and squeeze to the point where she could not breath.
He then attempted again to get his wife to open up the Snapchat but she refused. She told officers that he then pulled out a black handgun and pointed it towards her head. She was able to get away and cops arrived on scene.
Police wrote in the affidavit that the woman had red marks on her throat and neck that were consistent with her rendition of events.
Officers then asked Featherston what happened. Featherston claims that he believed that his wife was cheating on him so he demanded that she unlock her Snapchat. Once she refused he claims that an argument ensued and that he did put his hands around her neck and choked her. He denied that allegation regarding the gun.
Featherston was then taken into custody and was booked into the Tom Green County Jail. At the time he was only charged with assault against a family member. His bond was set at $20,000 and he was released the day after.
After the additional indictment of aggravated assault his bond was increased to $40,000. He was booked into the Tom Green County Jail on Apr. 17 and Apr. 18. While he was on bond for the first charge, Featherston was booked for driving while intoxicated on Mar. 27.
