ODESSA, TX – An Odessa man is facing serious charges after he was allegedly found in possession of child pornography.
According to court documents, in August of last year, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children issued a CyberTip, after one file of suspected child pornography was uploaded onto Rafael Quintero’s Facebook.
Months later in December, Special Agent Tanya Ruiz used open-source information and law enforcement databases to determine Quintero used an email associated with the Facebook account flagged in August.
Agent Ruiz was then able to determine that Quintero used that same email to open the Facebook account and on his Texas Driver’s License application form.
According to police, on March 2 Quintero allegedly viewed six videos and three pictures of suspected child pornography. The images showed a child under the age of 18 engaged in sexual conduct.
The resulting investigation resulted in Quintero being arrested and booked into the Ector County Law Enforcement Center on March 7, 2021.
Quintero was charged with four counts of possession of child pornography, a third-degree felony. His bond was set at $40,000 and he posted it that same day.
