Police: Teen Charged With Murder In Fatal Stabbing

MIDLAND, TX -- A 16-year-old has been arrested in connection to a fatal stabbing in Midland.

According to the Midland Police Department, on Thursday afternoon officers were dispatched to the 4300 block of Pleasant Drive for reports of a stabbing.

When officers arrived at the scene they found 20-year-old Isaias S. Nunez with multiple stab wounds. Nunez would ultimately succumb to his injuries at a local hospital early Friday morning.

The subsequent investigation revealed the suspect fled the scene before police arrived.

It is unclear at this time what led to the stabbing but the teen was initially charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. After Nunez died the charge was upgraded to murder.
