Suspects Charged in the House Party Murder of Teen Girl

ABILENE, TX -- After months of what seemed to be little to no progress in the murder of Meghan Kirkland, three arrests have been made in connection to the case.

The 19-year-old college student was killed at a house party in August of 2020. Kirkland was struck after a fight broke out and two different individuals fired their weapons into the crowd.

According to the Taylor County Sheriff's Office, George Girard Johnson of Abilene has been charged with murder and is being held on a $250,000 bond.

Stephanie Avalos aka Stephanie Maldonado and Kimberly Renee Limas of Abilene have both been charged with Tampering with Evidence and are being held on a $100,000 bond each.

Additionally, there are two warrants of arrest for two additional suspects accused of tampering with evidence. The suspects have been identified as Ramon Aguirres and Yahayra Gutierrez of Abilene.
