San Angelo Man Arrested After DA'S Office Claims He Beat Up a Pregnant Woman

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – A San Angelo man was arrested Tuesday after he was indicted for allegedly beating up a pregnant woman.

According to court documents, on Mar. 4, District Attorney Allison Palmer presented evidence to a Tom Green County grand jury against Chad Allen Martin, 28, of San Angelo that accused him of assaulting a  pregnant woman.

Martin is accused of not only pushing the pregnant woman but also striking the woman with his hand.

Court records show he was in a dating relationship with the victim.

The grand jury heard the evidence and then indicted Martin for Assaulting a Pregnant Person Family Violence which is a third degree felony.

On Mar. 10 a warrant was issued for the arrest of Martin. Less than a month later, on Apr. 6, Martin was arrested by the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office. He was booked into the Jail at 3:50 p.m. and remains there on a $25,000 bond. If he is released he can have no contact with the victim. 

Martin has a post indictment reporting hearing scheduled for Apr. 14 at 2 p.m.
