Alleged Drug Dealer Assaults Police Officer

 

TYE, TX – A 28-year-old Tye man is facing serious charges after he assaulted a police officer.

According to the Tye Police Department, William Ryan Pierce was arrested after a four-hour standoff with law enforcement.

The standoff began around 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday after Pierce refused to exit his home and hid in the attic of the home.

After obtaining a search warrant Tye Police officers and members of the Sheriff's Special Response team entered the home.

Around 10:15 p.m. Pierce was removed from the home. Tye Police Chief Jay Strong confirmed the suspect assaulted an officer.

Back in early March, Pierce led Taylor County Sheriff's Office narcotics agents on a high-speed chase. The pursuit ended when Pierce crashed into a trailer park:
