SAN ANGELO, TX – Shortly after 2:00 p.m. San Angelo Police officers were dispatched to the area of 23rd St. and Farr St. for reports of a stolen vehicle.
Police communications indicate a suspect was fleeing police in a stolen vehicle. The suspect stopped the vehicle and ran from Police on foot. More officers were called to the scene where they were searching for a hispanic male wearing a red shirt and gray pants.

Reporters on the scene observed officers, including a K-9 unit, searching the area.
At 2:41 p.m. SAPD issued a Nixel alert asking residents to avoid the area of Farr from 20th thru 24th St due to police activity. Additionally, Reagan Elementary School is on lockdown for the safety of students.
Police remain on the premises. This is a developing story.
Update: March 29, 2021 @ 3:45 p.m.
The San Angelo Police Department has confirmed the area of Farr from 20th to 24th is now back open, Reagan elementary is no longer on lock down.
