DPS Issued Blue Alert for Armed and Dangerous Fugitive

AUSTIN, TX – The Texas Department of Public Safety has issued a blue alert for an armed and dangerous suspect wanted in connection with the shooting of a trooper in Mexia, TX.

Blue Alerts are issued for a suspect who has killed or critically injured a law enforcement officer. 

DeArthur Pinson, 37,  is described as a black male, 6 ft. tall weighing 220 lbs with brown eyes and black hair.  He has facial hair and was wearing a black hoodie and shorts with a stripe down the side. He may be wearing glasses. 

According to the DPS, trooper Chad Walker was attempting to assist a motorist when Pinson fired on his patrol vehicle several times.  Walker was shot multiple times.  He was rushed to the hospital where he remains in critical condition Saturday morning. 

Pinson is considered armed and very dangerous.
