Teen Sentenced to 20 Years In Prison for Aggravated Robbery

 

BROWNWOOD, TX -- An 18-year-old Brownwood man will spend the next 20 years of his life in prison after pleading guilty for his role in the robbery of an elderly neighbor.

According to court documents, 18-year-old Octavian Torrez and two other men broke into the home of the elderly woman back in January.

The woman was pistol-whipped and as the men demanded money and jewels. The men also stabbed her dog.

Torrez pled guilty to Aggravated Robbery with a Deadly Weapon and Burglary of a Habitation with Commission of Felony.

He also pled guilty to Tampering with or Fabricating Physical Evidence and Cruelty to Non-Livestock Animals.

The other suspects, Edwin Louis Maldonado, 22, Juan Manuel Negron-Santiago, 19, are still awaiting trial.
