San Angelo Man Indicted for Burglary of a Habitation

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – Gabriel Martinez Contreras has been indicted by a Tom Green County grand jury in February for burglary of a habitation, violation of bond/protective order assault/stalking.

On December 1st, 2020, the victim called police and reported that Contreras knocked on the door and when they went to answer it, Contreras pushed his way into the residence.

The victim told police that Contreras was recently adjudicated for stalking them and he had no reason to be at the residence that night.

Once inside the residence, Contreras produced a firearm and pointed it at the victim and threatened to shoot her. He then struck the victim in the leg with the firearm.

Contreras then went into the bedroom and picked up a cell phone, car keys, and a firearm that the victim owns. The victim was able to make it to another phone and call the police.

After Contreras realized that the police were called he threw the items and left the residence.

Contreras was booked on January 5th, 2021 into the TGCDF where he is currently an inmate and has a $140,000.00 bond and cannot have contact with the victim.

Gabriel Contreras has a pre-trial hearing scheduled for April 27th, 2021.
