Over 300 Pounds of Mexican Gold Seized Along with 12 Illegal Aliens

 

ALPINE, TX – The Brewster County Sheriff's Office seized over 300 pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop on Thursday morning.

According to the Brewster County Sheriff's Office, on Mar. 4, the Brewster County Sheriff’s Office was contacted to assist US Border Patrol Agents with an investigation, involving 3 vehicles, South of Alpine.

During the course of the investigation, a deputy conducted a traffic stop, and discovered the driver to be in possession of 321 pounds of marijuana.

In the same incident, US Border Patrol Agents detained the 2 other vehicles, and apprehended 4 US citizens, involved in smuggling, and 12 illegal aliens.

The case has been referred to DEA and Homeland Security Investigations, for further investigation.
