San Angelo Man Remains Behind Bars After Accusations of Touching Children

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – A San Angelo man was booked into the Tom Green County Jail last Thursday after a grand jury indicted him for multiple crimes against children.

According to court documents, on Feb. 18, deputies with the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office arrested Sammy Sablan, 55, of San Angelo, for multiple indictments including two counts of aggravated sexual assault and two counts of indecency with a child by sexual contact.

The indictment came after Sablan was accused for inappropriately touching a child who was under the age of 14 multiple times during the month of July in 2018.

Sablan was indicted for the charges in Jan. 2020. He was arrested and booked into the Tom Green County Jail on Feb. 18.

He remains in the Tom Green County Detention Center on a $800,000 bond. 

Sablan has a post indictment reporting hearing scheduled for Feb. 24.
