Suspect Wounded in Officer Involved Shooting

 

ODESSA, TX – The Odessa Police Department has confirmed a man was injured during an officer-involved shooting Thursday night.

According to OPD, shortly before 10:30 p.m. officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Ellis Drive for reports of a stolen vehicle.

When officers arrived at the scene they found a suspect inside the vehicle. No further details have been released but the police department confirmed the suspect was shot by an officer inside the car.

The suspect was transported to Medical Center Hospital for treatment and his condition has not been released.

The officers involved were placed on administrative leave as is mandated by protocol while the shooting is investigated by the Texas Rangers.
