BIG SPRING, TX – A deadly assault has resulted in the arrest of a Big Spring man for murder.
According to the Big Spring Police Department, on January 18th officers were dispatched to the 2600 block of Langley St in reference to an assault.
The victim, identified as 38-year-old Thomas Segundo, was initially transported to Scenic Mountain Medical Center. Due to the severe nature of hai injuries, he was later transported to University Medical Center in Lubbock Texas.
Less than two weeks after the assault, Segundo succumbed to his injuries on January 31st.
Detectives with the Big Spring Police Department then obtained an arrest warrant for 38-year-old Jessie Cuellar for murder, a felony of the first degree.
Cuellar was arrested on February 8th by the Big Spring Police Department.
He is being held at the Howard County Jail pending arraignment.
