POLICE: Enraged Drunk Driver Arrested After Crashing into Donut Shop

SAN ANGELO, TX – The San Angelo Police Department has released more information regarding the crash that took out the Donut Shop on Sherwood Way early Sunday Morning.

According to the San Angelo Police Department, on Sunday, January 17, 2021, at 2:53 a.m., officers were dispatched to 2202 Sherwood Way for a report of a Major Motor Vehicle Accident.

Upon arrival, units discovered a 2006 Gray Ford SUV had been traveling westbound on Sherwood way when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a donut shop called Express Kolache and Donuts.

At the conclusion of the investigation, the driver, 21-year-old Grace Sanchez, was subsequently charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Obstruction or Retaliation, and Failure to Control Speed.

The police report indicated that the suspect became angry with police, EMS and possibly threatened to harm public safety officials at the scene.

There were no serious injuries and all subjects involved were either treated at the scene or at an area hospital.  However, the donut shop sustained so much damage that it is unable to reopen.

The owners of the shop said they didn't carry insurance for calamities like this, and a fundraiser is ongoing to help Express Kolache and Donuts get back up and running.

"As a baker we go in to work right at this time, thank god no one was working during this time!  We were told the boys driving will be ok but are taken in to Shannon, and we continue to pray for them.  Normally we don’t like to ask for help but our donut shop is our main source of income for our family.  Because of Covid, our insurance relapsed," said owners Van and Suka.

Well, since it’s not reported she was cited for failure to have insurance, she is probably insured. The shop, even if it was insured, will still have repairs paid by the driver’s insurance company. Good luck getting back up quickly Van and Go WFT.

Stupid broad is lucky the cops didn't fill her full of holes, bullet holes, not donut, since cops have such an infatuation with donuts.
