College Student Arrested for Possession of Lewd Images

 

ABILENE, TX – A 23-year-old Abilene Christian University student has been arrested after he was flagged by software that detects child pornography.

Yu Zhong, an ACU student, was arrested on Friday at his campus apartment.

After Zhong's laptop was searched by police, law enforcement found child pornography images on the computer.

Zhong was charged with possession with intent to distribute child pornography.

According to ACU's The Optimist, Zhong is a freshman at ACU from Lijiang, China. He is majoring in psychology.

ACU released the following statement.

“While no corner of our society is immune from these challenges, we do not tolerate this type of illegal and repulsive behavior. We take these crimes seriously, have acted swiftly, and the ACU Police Department assisted the Abilene Police Department with this arrest. He will no longer be a student at ACU."

Zhong's bond has not been set at this time.
