Fugitive Mexican Perv Arrested While Fleeing the U.S.

BRACKETTVILLE, TX – U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Brackettville Station arrested a man from Mexico during a traffic stop, Jan. 2.

Agents encountered the Mexican national during a traffic stop, in which he presented a false birth certificate. Agents quickly identified the false document and transported him to the Brackettville Station for further investigation. Records checks revealed he was arrested in Joliet, Illinois less than a month ago for predatory criminal sexual assault of a victim less than 13 and aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a victim less than 13. The individual was released on a $1 million bond for those charges in Illinois and was scheduled to appear in court this month. He was driving southbound toward Mexico near Brackettville, at the time of his arrest.

He will be turned over to Will County, Illinois Sheriff’s Office on a warrant for bond violations.

“Our agents are highly trained to detect imposters and those attempting to conceal their true identity,” said Del Rio Sector Chief Patrol Agent Austin L. Skero II. “Thanks to the agents’ diligence and attention to detail, this man will be returned to Illinois to face his criminal charges.”
