ODESSA, TX – An Odessa man has been sentenced to 45-60 years in prison after he fatally shot a man in Nebraska in 2019.

The subsequent investigation revealed Marc Jarrell was gunned down in Crystal Springs Park on July 1, 2019.

Law enforcement was alerted to the shooting after the local police department received a tip on July 4th.

On July 7th, Gilbert led deputies to Jarrell's body hidden in a ditch in Fairbury.

Back in October, Gilbert pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and use of a firearm to commit a felony.
