SAPD Seeking Information in Deadly RV Fire

SAN ANGELO, TX -- The San Angelo Police Department is seeking the public's help to identify the circumstances that led to the death of 53-year-old Bobby Dee Kolb.

On the evening of August 27th, SAPD and SAFD responded to an RV fire at the intersection of Koberlin St. and Florence St. in north San Angelo. Scanner reports indicated the recreational vehicle was fully engulfed and the fire department confirmed it was a total loss.

At the scene, SAFD Batallion Chief Jay Neely confirmed the victim suffered severe burns. No further details were released regarding the cause of the fire at that time.

Kolb ultimately succumbed to his injuries on October 3, 2020.

The investigation continues into the incident and the SAPD is asking anyone with information to come forward.

"Remember San Angelo, we can't do this without you," said Sergeant Travis Griffith. "If you know anything about this incident help bring closure to this family. I've spoken to them and they are hurting."

The RV was parked on Florence St., between Koberlin ST. and Spaulding St.
