Mother and Daughter Burglary Attempt Ends in Stabbing

SAN ANGELO, TX – A Tom Green County Grand Jury has indicted a mother and daughter after they broke into a woman's home and assaulted her.

According to court documents, on Aug. 5, officers with the San Angelo Police Department were dispatched to the 500 block of E. Harris St. for the report of a prowler gaining entry. 

When the officers arrived they made contact with the victim. She advised that two women and a man broke into her home through the front door and began assaulting her.

The woman then told police that during the assault she grabbed a knife and stabbed the woman she knew as "Lisa."

The victim told officers that "Lisa" and her mother Cecilia lived just down the street on the 400 block of E. Harris Ave. 

Officers then went to that home and found a red Ford Mustang with blood on the driver's seat.

Then then spoke with Elizabeth Guerrero, 39, and Cecilia Guerrero, 18, who gave them permission to search the home. The officers found a number of bloody items like bandages and clothing while inside.

Officers arrested the two after the mother told officers that she owned the Mustang and was there to witness Elizabeth being stabbed.

During the investigation police also found a number of drugs. According to the police report, 30 grams of Psilocybin mushrooms and 140 grams of marijuana were found in plain sight while officers were talking to the two about the assault.

Elizabeth was arrested and charged with charged with burglary to a habitation with an attempt to commit an assault. Her bond was set at $40,000 and she was released on Nov. 5.

Cecilia was arrested and charged with burglary to a habitation with an attempt to commit an assault, possession of marijuana more than four ounces but less than a five pounds and manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance. Her bond was set at $30,000 and she was released on Aug. 20. She was rearrested later for breaking her bond agreement on Sept. 18. She was released again on Sept. 29.

The two were indicted on the above charges on Nov. 12.
