LUBBOCK, TX – A Michigan man is now in federal custody after the FBI found a kidnapped 14-year-old girl from Lubbock.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Texas, on Nov. 22, agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigation's Victim Specialists Unit arrested Thomas John Boukamp, 20, for transportation of a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity.
The child who was kidnapped is identified as 14-year-old Mattie Worley who had been missing since Friday Nov. 13. Lubbock Police confirmed that they have evidence that Boukamp enticed the child and then took her out of the state.

Once LPD had that evidence Worley's missing status changed from not only missing but to missing and endangered. The FBI was then called in and took over the investigation. After nine days and a 21 and a half hour drive, Worley was located inside Boukamp's residence and taken back home to her family.
Boukamp was arrested by the Michigan State Police SWAT team and the Antrim County Sheriff’s Department.
Boukamp was arrested Sunday morning, and made his initial appearance in federal court in Grand Rapids Monday afternoon.
Boukamp is charged with transportation of a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity. If convicted, he faces up to life in federal prison.
The Lubbock Police Department’s Special Victims Unit and the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Lubbock Resident Agency conducted the investigation with assistance from a Michigan State Police SWAT team and the Antrim County Sheriff’s Department. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Jeff Haag and Callie Woolam are prosecuting the case.
