Teen Arrested for Dangerous High Speed Racing

 

ABILENE, TX-- A high-speed race ended in the arrest of a 17-year-old man in Abilene late Friday night.

According to the Abilene Police Department, Hayden Reed Hammond was racing his 2010 Ford Mustang against a second vehicle down S. 1st Street.

Police radar indicated Hammond was traveling 96 mph and the other vehicle at 116 mph when they passed the officers.

According to police, both cars continued accelerating.

The officer activated his emergency lights and Hammond pulled over. The teen driver admitted he was racing and was charged with racing on a public roadway.

Hammond was released after posting a $750 bond.
