Recalled Big Spring City Councilwoman Arrested

BIG SPRING, TX – A former Big Spring city councilwoman was arrested early Saturday morning after police found her screaming in the street.

According to CBS 7, on Nov. 7, officers with the Big Spring Police Department arrested Camilla Strande for public intoxication.

The arrest came after officers were dispatched to Main Street for the report of a woman screaming in the street. She was arrested around 4:30 a.m.

Following her release, Strande filed a police report stating she was drugged.

Strande alleged that a man came into the cigar bar "The Train Car" while she was locking up asking to see his friend that was inside.

After realizing no one was inside, Strande claims she sat down with the man and then blacked out. After she woke up she found a number of bruises on her body.

Earlier this month, Strande was removed from the city council following a recall election. The Mayor of Big Spring was also in the recall election but was not recalled. Mayor Thomason brought up a number of problems in the city council in an exclusive interview with San Angelo LIVE! Here it is:

San Angelo LIVE! reached out for Mayor Thomason's comments regarding Strande's arrest but he declined to comment.
