Sheriff's Office Hires Operations Lieutenant

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – The Tom Green County Sheriff's Office announces the hiring of Burleigh Locklar to the position of Operation's Lieutenant. Lieutenant Locklar was selected through a promotional process that included several applicants.

Locklar has over 30 years of law enforcement experience with the Texas Department of Public Safety. He is a graduate of the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command as well as the Governor's Center for Management Development.

His service to our state included eight years as a Lieutenant in the Motor Vehicle Theft Service, five years as a Texas Ranger, and most recently as a Lieutenant in the Texas Ranger Division over the Special Operations Group-Border Security for three JOIC (Joint Operations Intelligence Centers) to include El Paso, Marfa, and Del Rio.

Locklar is a certified hostage negotiator,  firearms instructor  and armorer. Lt. Locklar will be sworn in by Judge Eddie Howard during a ceremony to be held at the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office.
