More Than Six and a Half Tons of Reefer Seized from Shipment of Commodes

LAREDO, TX – The U.S. Customs and Border Protection stopped a massive shipment of marijuana from entering into Texas recently.

According to CBP, on Oct. 2, agents with the CBP were working the World Trade Bridge on the U.S.-Mexico border in Laredo and were approached by a 2015 Freightliner tractor attempting to gain access into the U.S.

The agents decided to take a closer look at what the semi, supposedly just hauling toilets, had inside.

Inside the agents found 1,017 packages containing 13,744 pounds of marijuana hidden inside the commodes.

The more than six and a half tons of alleged marijuana have an estimated street value of $2,748,404.

The drugs and suspects were then handed over to homeland security for further investigation.
