ABILENE, TX -- New details have emerged in the gruesome murder of Steven Seth Phariss.
Last month Phariss' body was found inside an abandoned pickup on I-20.
According to court documents, he was shot in the arm, neck, and torso.
Last Friday police arrested John Marshall Spriggins of Sweetwater.
According to court documents, Phariss was having an ongoing relationship with Spraggins' wife, Cheyenne.
The suspect and the victim were co-workers until Spraggins was fired after "incidents at work between the two concerning Cheyenne."
Leading up to the murder, the two men had at least one fight.
According to witnesses, Spraggins said, "he was going to kill Pharris."
On the day of the murder, Spraggins was caught on surveillance footage following the victim after he left work.
Pharris was killed less than 10 miles from where the video footage was captured.
Spraggins was unable to verify his whereabouts during the time of the murder and cell phone data placed in him in the area at that same time.
