Body Found in Flooded Jones County Field

 

ANSON, TX – A man's body was found in a flooded field in Jones County on Thursday.

According to the Jones County Sheriff's Office, deputies were dispatched Wednesday evening to the report of an abandoned vehicle call. 

When first responders arrived on scene the abandoned vehicle was located just off the road sitting in high and rapidly moving water. 

With the assistance of the Anson Volunteer Fire Department, Texas Game Wardens and Anson EMS, authorities determined the vehicle was empty.

Due to the weather conditions in the area, first responders were forced to return to the scene on Thursday morning where the man's body was discovered.

According to the investigators the man's body was found around 11 a.m. with the assistance of a resident from the area, and their drone.

The man's name is currently being held until all next of kin and family members have been notified.
